Inspect the soldering tip before starting a project, if it is heavily oxidized, it may need to be replaced (spare tips are available in the electronics bins)
Turn on the filtered soldering fan on the workbench to collect smoke generated during soldering
Set the temperature on the Weller station to between 650-750 F (some experimentation is required)
Use the solder stored in the wheeled cabinets to tin the tip of the soldering iron (it is good practice to tin the tip regularly to avoid oxidation)
If the solder is not melting, the tip is likely oxidized, or the temperature of the iron is too low
TURN OFF the soldering iron after every use, leaving it on unattended presents a fire hazard
